precursor: regex

regular expressions are an extreme form of compression - if you take the time to study them, you can easily 10x or 100x some workflows. modern editors have moved away from regex, due to the cognitive burden and lack of user interest. but i love regular expressions!

this particular use case is aligned with the white-rabbit learning module on this site. given a regular expression, we can imagine a tool that allows anyone in the world to comment and expand upon it. we could build a library of every regex ever used - and help people learn why they are so powerful.
